Piper Aircraft Quilt

Busy fall and winter. I have not gotten a chance to post anything. I am working on a Theme quilt for the Susquehanna Valley Quilt show end of Feb. Mine will be on Piper Aircraft in Clinton County. Craig went up to the airport museum and met with the museum director and  his old boss that he worked with building a made to order plane for Bogata Columbia and they went thru the files to pull out old photo's of cubs, WW2 and the flood in 72, so i can use those to photo transfer into the quilt. I am putting a collection of pictures in the quilt and one of Craigs drawings he made when working in engineering dept at Piper along with the photos, and embroidery, applique and plane blocks. I have about 5 weeks to get this done. I have it in my mind what its going to look like, but once I get the blocks all made, sometimes these take on a different look. I didn't put it on paper yet until I start getting blocks made.

Chickens on hold. Husband worried that the Jack Russells will have them as snacks.  I am getting ready for planting season, I have a list of flowers I want to buy from the Amish and have gotten my potting soil and new pots last weekend.

I have decided to raise my own chickens for eggs. I ordered 3 Barrock and 3 Buff Orington chicks. They will be here March 5. I drew up the plans for remodeling the guniea pig pen into a chicken coop. I have two old windows I am going to recaulk, repaint and fit them up to the bottom of the pig cage, add nest boxes and roosts, close in the bottom and add a closing chicken door. I will get the Amish boys up here to help me build a wire run. I will wait until warm weather do do that. But for now, i have to get the Brooder ready to hold the chicks. Picked up food dish and water dish Friday. I am going to use either a large plastic tub or the wire guniea pig cage to put them in. I have a floor lamp to put over them. I have been reading alot of books on chickens and researching alot on the internet. so I think I pretty much got it all covered. Only problem will be keeping the one crazy jack russell from killing them. He has killed chickens before of the neighbors. I will have to not let them loose when he is outside.
